....What's good?

Looking for a pushchair/ travel system for impending small boy!!!!

I know there's a few fairly new dads on here, what's good in your experience?

dont get sucked into buying a travel system. the prams are always way too big (except the quinney zoom, but that has no storage when infant carrier is fitted)

We had the Quinny Zapp... had to get it from Germany because they weren't over here then or something.. ..

Looked at the Jane Slalom too.. seem to remember it got good reviews and certainly looked the part

we started with a Mama and Papas travel system . very good system .

but our latest one is a phil & ted and it is brilliant . I wish we had got it first time round .

We got a cossato travel system and have no complaints :D

What car have you got ? We were very limited as the gf has a cooper s and the pram needed to fit in the shoe box boot

Came down to a zap and the system we got. Zap got beaten on only having three wheels and not reclining - but now she is walking we will have one soon as a compact buggy, most buggys won't even get in the boot of the mini

The prams been all over the place. Only problem was a broken back wheel from a flight back from the states :-( but they needed replacement anyway (worn out !) and it turned out the factory is within walking distance from where we live 8)

WD :D

We have a Graco travel system from Toys R Us and its been fantastic, my daughters 3 in April and its still going strong and looks like new.

As we never had a car we used our prams a lot so..

We had some Bebecar 3 wheel pram (sprinter or something like that) pram, could swap the top for basket, seat or anything else bebecar did.
Lasted 5 years of hard use (2 children) still working but just donated it to charity, only changed the inner tube one as we got a thorn in it.
Was fine on the beachs, hills and footpaths and the bus. 3 large air wheels wheels made it easy and very comfy and it had a brake.

As a smaller lighter alternative we also had the Maclaren Techno XL great push chair for general use quick use as it even lays down so you can also use it, the sprung wheels make it comfy to use and quick.
After many years of use it was looking tired though, so given it to 'grandma' to use if needed.

Now have a Baby Jogger City mini, which is a great quick and easy to use pram better than the Maclaren in general use and the hood is excellent, and you just lift the stap in the centre to fold it.

Still going strong (almost 3 years).

(we always had two prams on the go)

Not as good as the others on the sand and needs to be dragged backwards. But then it's not designed for that.

BUT go have a play with some.

Probably more qualified to comment on this currently than bikes with the recent arrival of our second.

Started with a maxi cosi mura travel system. Came with the maxi cosi cabriofix seat. The car seat clips onto the wheels, always used this in preference to the carricot. The pushchair bit is good but bulky. The wheels are big enough to cope with rough terrain.

As #1 grew we purchased a smaller maclaren pushchair. The maxi cosi is big for town etc.

No we're on #2 bought a phil and ted e3 or someusch for both. Quite good actually, loads smaller than the maxi cosi (even with 2 up) but wheels a similar size so suitable for a bit of rough ground. With hindsight perhaps would've gone for this initially.
