Purple Anodised Aluminium O

So, I've just bought the from GT-Steve

I intend to have the frame refurbished in due course but I have 2 questions:

1: Can you re-anodise over existing anodising?
2: Has anyone got some snaps of a anodised "O" just like this but built up? I'm looking for ideas before I go purple bonkers

hi paul,
i can't help with pics, but the anodising is not a problem....
whatever the item is gets a dip first to clean it back to its natural bare state before the re-anodising in the colour of choice takes place. just had my x-lite L168 stem re-done, bought it on fleabay almost faded to silver, but was red originally! i just posted it off and a week later it arrived all gold and shiny, looks superb! check out SFX wheels, a guy called paul ritson, he's very helpful.

As velo mentions re-anodizing isn't a problem. If it's to be soon I would put out a request for good recomended anodizers

1. No, it would need to be stripped first.

As it is anodising would be a problem as the frame is not a single metal. It has rivnut bottle cage bosses pressed into place which would need to be drilled out before you can get it anodised. You'd also have to ensure you removed the brake bosses and the hanger. Not a hard job but one you would have to do before you had it anodised.
