Proflex crank removal

I've broken the bottom bracket on my 97 Proflex XPX - well it has done 11 years!
Now can't get the crank off. Using the crank extractor that I've used on campag crank, it screws in tight, but then just drops out when I get pressure on it.
Might it be a different size crank with it being a Girven?
Could I use PTFE or something to make it fit tighter - I don't want to break it.

Thanks Orange, no the threads seem OK, the bolt went back in & is nice & tight. Was going to take the bolt off & ride it or try PTFE tape. What do you think?

not sure why your crank extractor isn't fitting in the first place - I don't know about Campag stuff - maybe it's the odd one out. I have heard others say ride it around without the bolts - if it's very stuck on though I wouldn't have thought it'd come off that way...

not sure what ptfe could do - don't think it'd be strong enough? But no harm trying I suppose.

Campag standard (22mm x 1mm) is the one that everyone else adopted! The only oddities I know of are older Stronglight and TA, both of which are slightly larger than Campag, but different from each other.

Maybe Craiga could try an old Stronglight extractor, if he can find one.
