That looks like the same setup as the old Pro-Flex Animal I used to own. It was a whole bag of trouble.
The shock is put under a huge amount of strain due to the design and would snap if you hit a compression too hard.
I went through 5 or 6 shocks and 2 seat stays before I'd finally had enough and gave the frame away.
It's a shame because I quite liked look of it. Perhaps I should have hung on to it and mounted it on the wall or something.
