first – this is my own macB. i love riding it. currently it's the bike i ride the most.
well, honestly these pics were taken a year ago when i had just rebuild the grey ano xl frame to serve as my urban bike on cobbles and tarmac (more pics). guess in uk you might call it pub bike. by now (x km and a year later) the big ring, the riser bar and the tires are diffenent. it is rather light nontheless i did not choose lightweight parts and i do need xl frames.
recently i did buy another earlier macb full bike – planning a rebuild for a friend. sadly the toptube was dented during transport
and also the seller did not inform about the fact that the upper cable guides on the top tube were drilled through for magura hoses or so (well, my grey one even has two separat holes drilled into the top tube – german forum told me last year, they might even have done that in their danish workshop). after looking at it too long now, consulting my mate and moving the frame from a to b to c inside the workshop i'll pass it on. it still is an outstanding, very rare and perferly manufactured very very stiff frame with lots of unique detailed solutions, gussets and mounts– basis for an agile racy overtaker. i can promise that! the approach of the three danish students back then is still feelable. see their website's heritage chapter.
if you never saw a macb: expect that every detail is different, mostly better that you know from other brands and always for a reason. they used 7020 alloy, they have only stunning welds and they also build race bike frames which lasted in an university long time stress test when other top notch frames broke. they simply did their research/design/engineering/homework. am i a fan? absolutely yes! one last thing: in mid 90ies the bare frame retailed over 1600 DM (german currency before €).
so enough intro: this now is the slideshow of the rare black ano 1994 principia macb frame that i am letting go. there's also rather slim matching 1" steel forks that i got laying around (but the steerer would have to be recut and rethreated – could take care of it if i have some time to organize it). also got maguras in different colors and conditions if wanted.
