Judy lowers are magnesium aren't they?
Is it Kool and the Gang to powder coat them? Looked around on the web a bit and seem to get a mixed bag of answers about powder coating magnesium...
I did`nt go down the powder coating route for my Indy`s, but I did get one of the local car body shops to give them a couple of coats then low bake them..............they came out really well, unfortunately I don`t have them now so can`t show you a piccy.
i have experience with pc of both marzocchi and rockshox lowers, the marzochhi lower on a set of 2000 jnr t's(bam material) was fine, but a pair of newer 2001 z1's with the magnesuim arch exploded, apparently caused by poor casting that is porous. however the modern rockshox boxxer wc's that are magnesium were fine.
I remember seeing a set BITD that had been striped and polished. Looked tops, though I'm not sure how often you'd have to re-polish them to keep them looking nice.

my mag 20's are polished. they do go dull pretty quickly but magnesium is a lot easier to polish than aluminium. they look fantastic again in less than 2 minutes
Has anybody done this. I have a set of lowers that i wouldnt mind getting refreshed but dont know whether to have them sprayed or try to get them powder coated the same time as my frame?
I always thought pc would get everywhere and you've got bushes and stuff in Judy's, do they plug the tops or something to stop the pc getting inside or do you have to strip them right down then insert new bushes afterwards?
Spoke to the local powder coaters today and they said i would get 'gassing' or something if they powder coated magnesium. Dont know whether to to risk it or not - might just get them sprayed?
