What is the best way to clean out the old enamel when refurbing a pantographed part?

I Did TGR's rossin stem by soaking the enamel with cellulose thinners for a few days, then used a fine sharp craft blade to then pick out the old soft enamel.

Was anodising on that stripped with oven clean before polishing back.

Looks great.

It was, try clicking on the pics - sometimes it lets you view the album. I am pretty sure Ian wrote a step by step guide about the whole process - remove anodizing, use diamond files, use wet and dry and them polish. Repeat previous steps if marks remain. He is a bit of an expert at polishing.

If i can find the link i will post it.
