Early frame number though, I thought that early would have been in the Ti colours? Anyone in the know know??

Looks like a factory respray to me. Nobody wanted the red frames when the Panasonic colours came out - very nice

i'd have to disagree and say that this was one of the first panasonic coloured frames - original 753 decals (not the dreadful over purple-ed ebay copies) and full braze ons of that period - i'm guessing 1984.

Frame number is 1978-79 as are the details like the capped stays and the over BB cable guides. Portacatena dropouts puts it in the 1979 era as well.

I'd have to check when 753R came out but not sure it was out for that frame number.........

that style 753 decal came out in 1983 i think, shaun. . . they were difficult to get hold of unless you knew someone in the industry . .

1983 SBDU frame numbers started about 5600 according to Mike Mullet. Campag released the rear dropout design 1977 and it first appeared on bikes around 1979.

1979 would be my guess and refinished in Panasonic colours later..

Mine was very similar but slightly later, a 1981 resprayed in panasonic

The original owner confired for me that the factory did the respray
