Panaracer Fire Mud Pro

Just been looking at these tyres at halfords, only £10. Anyone used these as an all round tyre, are they any good?

Yes, and yes. Worth £10 of anyones money.

I used them in 1.8 flavour and they shed mud quite well.

Deep tread though, a lot more than the Fire XC Pro, so best avoided if you do more cycle paths and road work.

I'll be going to Halfords tonight then :) - just reserved a pair, from what I have read they are great in the mud but not so hot elsewhere.

Yup, great in mud, rubbish any where else, lethal on roads or singletrack with tree roots.

I mostly go on singletrack trails and there's loads of tree roots.

So i'll look for something else, dont want to be picking my teeth out of some tree trunk

Just my opinion though so don't just take my word for it

Aren't all tyres are dodgy on wet roots? I don't think these are any worse than others. They've been my first choice for muddy races for a couple of years, love 'em and if you can pick them up for a tenner then I'd thoroughly recommend the 1.8s for when the going gets muddy.
