Painting over powdercoat advice

So I want to tart up an old fork, mostly one colour, but with a different coloured section round the crown.

Plan is to powder coat the whole thing, then paint over the crown detail. Any advice on what type of paint to use? Can I just roughen the coated surface prime and paint with rattlecan? Or is there a more specialist paint that would adhere better (colour is gloss black so nowt fancy).

why not get it powdered two colours?

if you go the paint route, mask it, key the surface, plastic primer then paint. powder coating is plastic

They can do some nice fades with powder coat these days so worth asking/getting a price. The usual time vs. money conundrum! But all powder will be more durable vs. a wet paint fade over the top of powder and a lot less stress for you.
