Dirt Disciple
I recently bought some RC35's in good condition from the bay...

They have no rebound, hence the elastomers are shot (having taken a look at other RB threads on the subject)

I undid the allen bolt at the base of each stanchion and took them out. They have a small black elastomer on them (which is pretty soft and "dead"). I then took out the stanchions and some hard red elastomer bits fell out but the rest is stuck inside :(

I have a few questions for someone in the know:

1. What exact model of RC35 do I have? (it seems Pace have replacements, but they have two different types)

2. What is the easiest and least destructive way to get out the old elastomers?

3. Anybody have any idea what hardness the elastomers should be? I may be able to get them made locally if I know what hardness they are (normally its measured in Shore A or Shore D)

Hope someone can help!

+2 for just back dated, got me a set real quickly and were easy to fit 8)

They look the same as the ones on my Conquest, RC35 AB (atmosphere balanced) via a hole in lower caps

Mmm..1994 RC35 XCS in lovely condition :D

Elastomers would have been medium if they are red and are still available from Pace for £40+ a set and come in soft, medium or hard.

Let me know if you would like a set-I can pick some upon my next visit :D

The black topouts should be ok to reuse as long as they are not split/perished and are better than the 'foam' ones in the new kits.
