PACE RC100 Rebuild Help!!! Desperate!!

Dirt Disciple
The Pace RC100 frame and bits have gone into the bike shop and I desperately need help advice sourcing:

1) a push fit bottom bracket and spindle to fit the RC100. Modern or retro anything will do as long as I can attach the Bullseye crank arms on a spindle.

2) metal band used to hold the front mech on the very early RC100s. I know long shot but worth asking or else gotta get one made.

Oh and lastly what were the original tires and grips fitted to an early RC100? Anyone know where I can source to finish the build???

Any help appreciated.

Bullseye cranks have a built in spindle so you'll need bearings to fit that. Problem is that bullseye spindles are imperial (22.2mm) but the Pace shell is metric. You'll need a specialist bearing company or the second option is to have someone clever turn the Bullseye spindle down to a 22mm - that'll make bearing sourcing much easier.

Tyrewise Pace changed a few times, but Specialized Ground Control and Control Extreme were one combo as were Ritchey Megabite tyres.

Grips were Grab-on Mtn2

I've been looking for a similar BB for an early Fat Chance.I have discovered you can get a modern replacement for about £14 , with a square taper , have seen them I'm quite a few sites, Charlie the bike monger .com is one that springs to mind
As for your other questions , I can't help , I was more of a RC200 man myself ! Happy hunting

Sadly can't be used with Bullseyes.

Here's one I made earlier:

Hi all

I appreciate everyone's response. Sounds like I've got a bit of a problem with the bottom bracket!! Jerky I'll PM you.

Anybody any ideas on the front mech band?
