Pace RC100 question

Hi guys, i have yet another question to all the Pace specialist's out there.
My question is : What thread size is the bolt under the fork crown on a rc 100 stem/steerer combo ? The bolt that takes the slack out of the headset. cheers for all your help in advance,

Seen them go both ways, some are almost like a thread within the steerer tube, others are a nut onto a threaded extension from the steerer shaft...

Either way both are a metric thread, I would guess an M5?

If it is the early one with the brazed-in plug it should be an M6 stud sticking out or there are some which take an M6 bolt like the later ones that were to be fitted with a 'Star Fangled' nut after cutting to length.
