i am looking to buy a set of rc 36 forks off a fellow retrobiker and i just need a question answering. can i use a normal 6 bolt hub on the forks with the old hope disc mount kit you used to be able to get for this? i have the wheels but i am not going to be running hope brakes. can i do this or do you have to use the old hope screw on hub with a hope caliper? i have seen a recent post on here about this, but i am not clear on weather you can use different brakes or not. can you still buy the mounting kit? or something like it?

My RC-200 came with RC36 and Hope discs. The adaptor kit consists of a half caliper from hope that continunes down to the fork drop out to form a bottom anchor point and the front hub runs a narrower shim on the disc side to compensate for the extra thickness of the half caliper in the drop out. The top mount for the caliper is a band that clamps round the fork leg.

What year/model rc36's are they?

The slightly later ones 99's could use normal discs with the optional disc brake kit.

Got a couple of mount sets! :D
You need a older hope spline fitting hub for it to work on most 35's This I dont have :(

Pace forks RC 35/36 pre '99 you can only run 155 disc's and the hub had a spline but was a special. Spoke flange width and axle so as to carry the caliper half due to the width and drop out design of the legs. Crown narrow, Legs drop out not offset.

I've just managed to put together the bits to do exactly this mod.

You need the Hope made caliper mounts for Pace forks, the tapered shim that fits your fork (the legs were different shapes), a Hope No. 3 C2 caliper and a special hope splined hub with a narrow flange on the disk side (with no cracks in the flanges).

Or you could just go for the later RC36 forks with parallel legs and a disk mount. Then any caliper and hub can be used.
