Hi All
Some of you will remember our wanderings in Europe last year on the way to OWMTBC 09 in Holland.

One of the lovely things about the first event was the opportunity to meet fellow retrobikers from different parts of the world and make friendships borne of a common interest! Team Poland travelled a long way to take part of the first event and so this year we are travelling in eastern Europe and calling in to vist them in their home near Crakow!

So this thread will chart our travels to Austria to visit my family and then afterwards we will go through the Czech Republic before entering Poland.

After visiting Team Poland we will travel. north to Gdansk and then back through Germany - unless ofcourse we get a lottery win in which case the plans may change!

So Tiny Ti is loaded - new schwable marathon tyres to cope with the Polish roads and a set of offroad tyres on another set of wheels.

Wifi permitting I'll post our progress along the way - so hitch along and see how we go - great that the OWMTBC event is in the UK this year - (no exciuse for the Retrobike massive based in the UK!) so maybe we'll see you at this year's event in September in Wales!

Looking forward to the updates - even though I'm totally envious! especially looking to hear about the riding in the Polish/German area as we're considering basing OW 2012 there...

Mr K

Sounds like a fantastic trip, been thinking of a camper this year as tents seem to become less appealing the older I get.

So - first update along the way - later than I had hoped with a dearth of wifi at campsitse along the way even in Austria. Now in the Czech Republic a few miles short of the Polish border.

We spent a good weekend in Austria at Melk near Vienna where the Danube cycleway passed our doorstep literally and provided convenient riding in each direction.Impressed by the number of touring cyclists with tents putting us to shame with our cushy camper!

Now in Czech republick having spent a couple of days visiting the mediaval wonders of Ceske Krumlov and Telc.

Campsite on the Czech Polish border less than £10 per night with live music ( mostly Abba tribute stuff) piped over the tannoy for all to enjoy!

Into Poland tomorrow and meeting upwith Team Poland Fiday evening -looking forward to it so much! And Marcin -only one bike but two sets of wheels so can go offroad as well!
