Just putting this out there...we have all benefited from OUR NHS at some point - some more than others.
A Conservative vote today will undoubtedly give May a mandate to the continued piecemeal privatisation of our NHS. That is the reality-look at how many contracts have already been signed over to VirginCare.

Is this the future you want?
As Noam Chomsky has said 'the standard technique of privatisation: defund, make sure things don't work, people get angry, sell (at peppercorn rates) to the private sector'

Stop scaremongering with facts HB.

The NHS is in safe hands with Jeremy Hunt. Really it is, he's never co-authored a book about how privatization of the NHS would be a good thing, nope not Hunt. & anyway NHS staff are fully behind him!

Re:

Yawn

People want Gucci services for Primark money, why do you think so many politicians who say, we need to tax you more to give you better services, lose?

When the nhs was created it was funded properly for it's purpose but now we have very expensive equipment like mri's, cancer treatments, ivf, sexual identity transition operations, people living upto and beyond 100 and the list goes on. We ask so much more for it but funding doesn't seem to match the expectations

For too long and by ALL parties, they have deliberately avoided the adult conversations about funding knowing it will cost them their time in parliament. That is as much our faults than ANY governments and to try and blame just one party is a blaming of convenience

The tories way of dealing with it is to see what money we actually have then try and make sure we cut back to what money we have, the labour way of dealing with it is to throw money at it and sort it out later, are we forgetting what party brought in quango's and how much money was lost in middle management teams of useless groups milking money out of the nhs?

There is a halfway to be had but to assume anyone party can achieve it is either naive or plain deceitful. Whatever party is brave enough to take up that conversation then the public, us, have to understand if you want nordic level of public services then you will have to accept nordic high level taxes and no matter what a certain party tells you, it will not be just the top 5% who will be paying for it, we all will

The last time I needed the NHS I had a great service, but that was years ago.
That being said it helps to stay strong and healthy these days.
The amount of people using the NHS through problems which can be easily avoided is a big problem.

I agree somewhat...we need a holistic approach to the nations health. Privatisation is not the answer.

^^ that person was me

I didn't go the Doctors as I though the heavy cold I had was exactly that.... a cold ! and didn't want to waste their time and take up an appointment.

when I did finally go to the Doc's, he got right pissy with me as I'd left it too late for treatment
and ended up attending Hospital with the onset of Pneumonia and still being treated now for the after effects which has left me with Asthma

As for the service I have to say it was great, all the way through.

Funding cuts for seven years, services outsourced to for-profit companies, who of course use health money on profit instead of health, reliance on buying supplies from pharma giants...

Only option is give the NHS more money, bring services back in house with some scary men in black to oversee standards, and create a state owned medical supply company.

The NHS is the greatest achievement of the country, accept nothing less than the best for it.
