Original Hope Mechanical Disc Info

I think the original Hope mechanical discs are much earlier than 1995, something like 1991. Forum user "The Ken" has a set of these, contact him for details. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=94741
Easy is right, they started MTB ones in 1991 but I think they did tandem ones before that - they modified sakae hubs with their first batches.
I have the leaflet pictured in that link, the cast one is 1991- 92/3 but they moved to CNC calipers by 95.

Hope Cable Caliper Pads
Pads for the cable calipers are CFA248 - look at the drawing to confirm - the photo is rarely accurate.

you can also order them via your LBS direct from hope.
there are a few compounds available if you seach google for CFA248 brake pads - you get a few links.
They are much heavier than OEM as the pad is on cast metal instead of the original CNC'd alu. I've kept my old ones in case I ever find out how to make my own (I think you just cast the compound onto the bare metal plate)
