Orange X1 Wanted: Will pay handsomely.

twobob

Retro Newbie
Desperately in search of a Orange X1 for a dear friend looking to relive his childhood.

Please, if you know anyone out there who might have one willing to sell willing to pay quite a bit over what it might be worth.

Many thanks.

Blimey theres not a lot of love around these parts for the X1 even at the best of times - your mate is in a very small minority,

Personally I love mine (clicky link in build signature) but most folk hate them just because the use URT technology for the rear end, I'll contact a guy who has more the a few - that I know of, but his addiction is life threatening so he might never part with any of them

I have no doubt you'll find one - they come up every now and again but most have been horribly abused

What year was he 11 in as mine was built for Cantilever brakes 1996 model but the year after they went over to V brakes

Thanks im on the Essex London border but would be willing to travel. Im sure he got it when he was 10 or 11 and the bike was already a year old, I had a saracen raw (I know..) and was mighty jealous when he trumped me with it. Im pretty sure it was 1998 so prob a 1997 bike? I know he ended up having the LBS put maguras on it and he was forever having problems with them.
