My first two retro bikes. I purchased a P7 frame, fork and groupset from ebay with the understanding that I just needed to add wheels'. Whilst looking for some wheels I stumbled upon the Prestige and bought it to use for parts however it is too good for that.
When the P7 arived It was clear that I have been ripped off, the seat post was stuck and took nearly six hours to remove, the fork was junk, the drivetrain wad in pieces and the bike had not even been cleaned.
I decided to strip the frame and see what I could make of a bad situation. I have now removed most of the laquer and I think it is looking fairly respectable from say 1 meter away but I am a bit concerned about the BB area (see pics)

I have some nice original forks but need to sort out where to cut the steerer and I also need a canti hanger. Any advice?
It has XT levers and shifters which are scruffy but work, a battered xt rear mech a nice LX front mech from here as well as some XTR cantis! Needs a seat post and saddle.
Here are some pics of the prestige which will hopefully get a chain and some cables this week so I can use it as a spare bike for cross. I have some LX cantis on the way as it has CODA? cantis at present. It also has a gripshift on the right hand and thumbie on the left!

Any comments, suggestions welcome.I would like to know what wax to use to protect the frame once stripped. Oh and new decals on the way from Gil.
