Hello, i've got a 1998/99 p7 frame [the orange powder coated one] and i can't seem to find a front mech that fits the seat tube. 31.8 is too small and 34.9 is too big! What did they use on these frames? was it a bottom bracket mounted mech or some kind of weird diameter clamp? I'd rather get a mech that fits than attempt shimmage. Can anyone help?

should be 31.8, sometimes when something is powder coated the paint actually slightly increases the thickness of the tube so you just have to carefully squeeze the clamp shut, i have done it by initially using a longer bolt in the clamp coz initially the standard length bolt isn't long enough.
