If i were you, though you'll need to check, but from the sounds of it the mini pistons are the original type(hence the noise) I'd buy new phenolic pistons.
The original pistons were alloy, with a steel inner that floats, and its this inner section thats prone to vibrating and causing a horrendous noise. The newer pistons, which are still readily available, pretty much stops the vibration because they're single parts and not two piece.
