Anyone know if cleats are still available for these things. My cleats are on their last legs - or it might just be me on my last legs, either way they're getting rather too vague to use. Got the black elastomers in at the mo, would changing colours help (don't want to use the blue ones as they'll clash with the purple bits on the Rocky

Thanks for the heads up mate – I'll pm Fenton (though I think I'll be at the back of the queue). It's a shame not to use them as they're the Ti axle ones and generally not in too bad nick.

For info – should anyone wish to know – Supercycles.co.uk has spares for onza pedals, elastomers and base plates etc. Just not the cleats, typical!

Sold to crayons!
Have you worked out how to remove the old cleats? I haven't got round to trying yet (I got eggbeaters and new shoes after trying in vain for ages to find some Onza cleats) but looks like I'll have to drill the bolts out when it comes to it. The bolts have kind of become one with the cleats

I had this with my very first SPD cleats. BITD no one thought much about how the bolt heads might fare when confronted with the odd bit of walking off road – by the time I had to remove them they were a big rusted mess on the sole of my shoe that just occasionally would attach itself to my pedal (and usually wouldn't let go).

First attempt was the brute force approach using an impact driver with an allen key head, but what little remained of the hex shape quickly turned circular.

Eventually removed them via liberal application of the black and decker with a nice big drill bit. It probably helped that the bolt and the cleat had become aproximately 90% iron oxide at that point – it was like drilling through sand.

Same approach has worked with mates cleat bolts. I favour lots of copper slip and regular checking – if a bolt looks sketchy now I'll take it out to replace it.

Don't know about the onzas though as they came attached to a pair old shoes that happened o be the right size – the bolts don't look too bad, but the cleats were never great

Silly thought ... Onza HO cleats have two diiferent float settings, rotate the cleat 90 degrees to get nice fresh cleat faces

Thanks REKIBorter

Unfortunately I rotated these many miles ago otherwise I'd certainly have one that (never felt the difference between the two settings anyway), they're just generally past their best now, too many years of Quantock grinding paste.

bontyfiend has bailed me out – for which I will be eternally grateful

And thanks too, for the offer from Yo-eddy – stick 'em in the for sale thread mate, can't imagine I'm the only one after a set of these.

I have to say this thread sums up everything that's great about this site. The response I've had is great. Long may it continue!! :D
