tough question as I dont own a set. however phil wood bearings are pretty awesome. having watched these pedals for a while I've seen a few of them cracked on the corners. from what I've read these were designed as high visbility reflective pedals (CHP = california highways patrol). more of a cruiser pedal me thinks. either love or hate looks

Silly money.
I've seen a few pairs go quite cheaply. I even considered bidding on some.
But their monumental fugliness prevented me from bidding.

Looking at the side views, they just look like an industrial aluminium extrusion that was chopped into short sections to make pedal bodies.

If I wanted some vintage road pedals I'd be looking towards some of the beautiful Campagnolo or Ofmega ones. Not those fugly things.

However, so long as both buyer and seller are happy, then that holy entity called "The Market" will have functioned properly.
