old stronglight cranks

any suggestion for the whereabouts of a crank puller for 1970's stronglight cranks, also bolt covers for the same.( parktool made one but its unavailable)

Are you sure it is 1970's? Most Suntour cranks were made in the 80's and AFAIK all were 22mm standard extractor fitting.

Pretty sure the (not original) ones on my Viscount are Suntour and they are standard 22mm.

Ah right, depends on which exact model you have. 23.35mm for the older Stronglight cranks.
However I'd check out the velobase website to be sure. Here's a listing of all the cranks and their appropriate crank extractor measurements.

The extractors are avalable on ebay, but the market is very small, and most are handmade, so they are not cheap.

Try Spa Cycles of Harogate. www.spacycles.co.uk

They bought a lot of old Stronglight parts from the original importer. I bought a double-ended extractor from them a few years back and this works on 22mm and 23mm cranks. It was not expensive.

Not sure if they still do it though.
