Would you believe I've got a NOS handmade Yeti AS3 made in Durango, CO that has been lying around forever?

The headtube/downtube gusset, old school Yeti head badge, the made in Durango, CO graphics, and the Troy Lee designs decals are a reminder of why Yeti bikes were the choice of those living in Fruita, Durango, Moab, etc. back in the day.

The Yeti AS3 is a pure XC race bike...

The story of this bike is that it was built up for a customer in Colorado, and after putting together the build, and taking a test ride he decided to go a different route. Well, the build was taken off, and the frame had been forgotten about until now...

Sadly the frame has experienced some shop wear in three places from having other stuff leaned up against it. Along the top tube you can see where the paint is scratched superficially on the blue paint graphics (but not through the underlying yellow paint), along one of the seat stays something or other scratched the paint as well. I've included detailed photos of the frame and the scratches. I don't know why the bike wasn't boxed back up after the build and tear down, but as it is its essentially a brand new old stock Durango, CO built Yeti.

Look at the pictures, they speak for themselves. Other than the couple of scratches I've detailed with the pics, the paint is just immaculate. Again, this bike is brand new which is obvious from looking at the photos. It was only ridden once.

Offered here for 1000 pounds (includes FREE shipping from Colorado, USA).

You can still buy a complete AS3 master rebuild kit for this bike from Yeti (however, this bike doesn't need one now, as again, it is brand new):

Shimano XT v-brakes

I have two sets of Shimano XT v-brakes (each is for front or rear only).

They are NOT a matched set, see pics as they are of different vintages for XT v brakes.

Either set includes two brakes enough for either the front or rear wheel.

20 pounds (5 pounds shipping)

35 pounds for both sets (5 pounds shipping)

Well, you show me a comparable NOS old handmade in Durango Yeti and we'll adjust the price accordingly...if there is not any interest I'll adjust the price accordingly, but I think the bike is priced more than fairly considering the scarcity of Durango built Yetis in nearly new condition, and considering what the original retail price was.

Heck, just old NOS Yeti tubesets have sold for more...

$1,600 is about three times as much is this frame is worth.

the AS3 was a Schwinn-designed frame, making it generally the least desired Yetis to come from Durango. In addition, the AS3 generally has a poor reputation in terms of reliability and performance.

A 98 AS3 XC in similar condition sold recently on ebay for $300.

The price you are asking would be difficult to get for an Agoura Yeti or even a mid-nineties ARC, AS, LT, etc.

Could not agree more.

These are the frames that came out shortly after Yeti was sold to Schwinn. They dont even look like Yetis even with the paintjob (unlike the Lawill DH frame which is proper hardcore stuff worth something still).

Funny you mention reliability problems though, mention a Yeti that have no reliability problems :) And I dont think 1600 dollars is a problem to get for a min ARC or ARC LT if you target the German market, those guys have some serious cash to spend on vintage mountain bikes if the condition is right.
