Could it be because they are half inch ones? All the ones I've seen before have been 9/16".

Ah! I think you're on to something there...that's probably it. I need a set in 9/16

I used to have them on my BMX 20 years ago, I think they are BMX type fitting, wish I kept them after seeing the price with 1 day to go....

I'm afraid 9/16 are usually more sort after, lots of peeps want them for there 3 piece flight cranks etc, if you get a tatty pair they can be restored pretty well, its the end caps you will struggle to find. There was a guy who made very good repro end caps but i think Shimano threatened to come down on him hard ......... good luck on your search

I've never seen 9/16s go this high...I hope this is not the way it's going to be now...should've grabbed them whe I had the chance.
