'Offroad Master'?

Out of nowhere I remembered a bike I used to really like... have I made it up?

A mate of a mate who I didn't know well had one BITD. 1990?

Yellow? Rigid, Flex stem?

I think I know what I want next! If it exists

offroad was the early name for proflex..i think they did a normal looking bike with a flexstem....

theres and Offroad 'Sport' being ridden round Paignton where i work. its black steel skinny frame with 200GS or similar and a yellow flexstem. caught my eye chained up outside the shop the other day

Yeah that's it cos the Sport was the nearest to my budget then. Memory, a wierd thing, bringing it back now..

the 1990 range of bikes by "offroad" had a model called the master. yellow, rigid frame with flexstem & deore lx groupo i think. rrp £500ish

they also did the worlds first production full sus bike, called the "proflex" this had the elastomer rear shock, ridgid forks & flextem, with full XT. rrp £1650.

not sure when but they changed the company name to proflex cus' thats all they did after 91' i think.

i remember seeing one at a XC race & thinkink WOW :shock: not just by the bit of rubber bolted on but the PRICE! :shock: £1650 for a bike! naturaly i asked my old man for one (dont ask dont get) he told me bugger off. anyway i was happy with my ridgeback

Haha, yeah the Proflex was well out of my price range, and couldn't afford a Master, i think the flex stem pushed it £60 more than other bike like the Karakorum and like. pushing £380 on my GT Tequesta in 1991 pushed my budget as it was.

I'd love a Master now, can't remember a lot about it just it was cool!
