NOS Poohbahs!

May have something to do with the fact that most of the guys who bought them from me were couriers - a great test for any product!

They did also change the sole to a much thicker reinforced plastic and those ones did last

EDIT - Having just looked at the set on offer, they are second gen ones, not the first gen ones that I had all the problems with!

the best cycling shoe I had was a set of Nike Tomac mountain shoes, weren't offically called Tomacs but they were the ones he originally rode on. Didn't have SPD soles but I believe his had metal plates bolted to the sole to take them. Mine had to go just recently (after 16 or so good years of service) because the rubber sole finally perished- now that's quality!

I got through a pair of these every race!!

The soles were either made of edam painted to look like black rubber or maybe even cardboard

The cleats would usually be left in my spd or i would end up riding with what felt like a flip-flop on my foot.

These have to be the worst shoes I have ever used.

Got a nice pair of lake mx300 to replace them and have used them ever since 8)

Might have a dabble at these, I had a pair of Ngubas for years which served me well until I sold them to JS1500.

Best shoes I had were Shimano M110, had them for about 15 years

Only last weekend did I give them up......and that was to pass them on to SPESHMIKE

i am size 8 uk but had to go 1/2 a size up. mine are still going strong though they are more like slippers now and very slippery in the wet and only good for dry days.

GA cycles in southampton have a pair of size 5 for sale still.
