Because stepping out into 3 lanes of traffic from behind a parked car without looking both ways is a smart thing to do ?

Neither one of them was aware of their surroundings .

It's all just paint on the road , can't go this way , should do this here , shouldn't do that there . If you step out into a road on the assumption that nothings going to be there because a sign says so your a foolish fool .

Guy on the bike should have expected something to appear from behind the car , it was pretty obvious .

Its a one way street,you wouldnt normally look the opposite direction.OK maybe in the UK or Europe where people have experienced left/right side driving but in the US its one direction only.The pedestrian can hardly be expected to think the unthinkable

Looks very 'put-up' to me, he give the fella enough of a shout to act accordingly and there was a big enough margin for him. The pedestrian fell well for an office worker .
