The taxpayer paid out £1.96million, mostly on travel, which is essentially PR and marketing for the UK. He didn't actually get £1.96million in cash. And a few paragraphs down you'll notice that he also paid £4.4million tax. So I reckon we're quids in ;)
 
Totally agree with mike, he is one of the few royals that is worth their keep. They market the UK around the world and provide a few of the reasons tourist visit here. As for the more distant relations still on the "list" bring out madam G.
 
He also paid an extra £900,000 in tax over and above his usual £4m :?.Then theres the ambassador bit.Im not a royalist but i reckon the taxpayer get their money's worth.
Compared against your average politician........
