Newbie With '94 Kilauea

Another Newbie!!

Love the site.

Started riding about 20 yrs ago on a £200 bike. Got my first real mountain bike in 1994 - A Kona Kilauea. An 18th birthday present instead of a car. My choice

Upgraded alot of the components when I first got it and have been riding it ever since. The only replacements are tyres and pedals.

Great to see so many people with old skool kit.

I think I have created an album with a couple of pics in the users gallery. That said I though I had posted this in the ''The Introduce Yourself Here Thread''

I have more pics but it says ths limit is 2mb so I will have to scale them down before adding - but will do.

That's a nice looking bike, not many people have owned their 1994 bike since 1994, nor kept it in such good shape. Speaking as the owner of a pearlescent white 95 Kilauea (which seem to be more popular with the masses), I must say I prefer that classy silver grey of your bike. And all the coloured parts look well on it too.

Of course, now you're a member of Retrobike, you'll soon have that garage full of other bikes to keep it company!

That looks very nice! My mate has a 94 Kilauea but it's not in anywhere near as nice shape as that. Well done!

found out last week a guy i work with has a '94 kilauea too. he bought it new also. it is mint and all original. even still has original brake pads and tires. it came with the rigid fork. but when he bought it, swapped it for a marrozzchi xc500. at least that is what he thinks it is. he still has original fork too. i asked if he could take some pictures over christmas break for me. will post them when i get them. i thought people might like to see it.
