Hello all,

new but am hoping you can help me with my benotto bike. I havent had much luck elsewhere and would really appreciate it.

Any help on identifying frame and ideas of whether this is high, mid or low end kit :)

Seatpost cluster doesn't match the cromor frame though ....

Very interesting frame, the nearest I can find is the following frame on flickr but very little info unfortunately. everything looks similar even the shape of the seat lug. The only thing thats different is the complete lack of apparant Benotto flourishes and Pantographed marks other than on the fork crown which interestingly is missing from the red frame :?

Be interested in any other info behind this frame...

Thanks guys,

I don't have much info really as I was given this bike by a friend in 2007. I did start a thread over on another forum and had some responses but thought this may be a good place to ask aswell due to all the other posts re. benotto bikes.

They it is late 80's early 90's. The 61 code on the crank suggests 1990 but the frame may have been built earlier than that part? My guess it is an original part as the guy i got it off said the campag crank broke hence one side being replaced by a mismatching mavic part!

Unfortunately I don't think it matches the cromor in many respects. Nonetheless it is a nice bike.

My thoughts are to gradually piece together a groupset that with newish components (e.g. 2007 record) and at some point have it resprayed and add new decals. Ride it for a year or so and then sell it. Alternatively leave it as single speed with a mishmash of new and old and sell it :)

Or just keep it :)
