Woodbury was cool - cash prizes :)

Great racecourse too - loved the dh to the stream, and back up to the finish. Nice hill!
Andy Gordon, famous TV interview quote for one of the Newnhams 'keep calm, thats the main thing' Nope - winning!!

yeah, the 550 was blue.
Aye, that last hill was a killer, but I liked it - anybody remember the little downhill section just after the 'last uphill'? You could whip down it to the little jump at the bottom - I can remember doing that about three times a lap, obviously I wasn't trying too hard then (Same as stopping for a hotdog during one of the races at Tavistock - or at least my memory thinks it's at Tavistock, bit of singletrack & bit of fire roads? anyone? anyone? Bueller? Bueller?).

Haven't seen Andy Gordon for ages, he used to be a really cool guy, dead easy to chat with & not up his own ar$e - all round great bloke. Last I heard he was selling Bibles in Buckfast.

I think the Decoy races must've sprung up after I finished going to races, the last race I can remember going to was at Buckfastleigh.

Used to go to a lot of races in Cornwall aswell as Devon, anybody remember the 'Coombe Park Bashes'? I was lucky enough to take Trevor Nation (Of Norton fame) for a lap around their course about a week before one of the races.

I used to work at Simply The Bike in Torquay back then & spent a lot time riding with Dan Gay (rode an Orange Formula) & Darren Tapp (had a GT at the time) Warren Burgess, Nick Brock (Chris Hopkins Cycles) - don't know if abnybody remembers their names, they were considerably madder than I was.

Anyway, thanks to this forum I've decided to dust off the Rocky & hit the trails again, I've just whacked on some Ltd Edition Magura's & a new Flite saddle to help me on my way:

Sounds like Cove Quarry? Been there with Darren & a few of us from Torquay, there used to be some pretty good cliff jumps there & an insane 'chute' down the side of the quarry.

When I Knew Darren he was riding a GT Xizang, then an RTS, after that I think he went onto have a Yeti, then I think he went to Fat Chance, but my memory is shockingly bad I'm afraid.

it was indeed cove quarry :)

Your memorys not that bad if you can remember what other people were riding over 10 years ago! lol
