The route is on Long Island NY, it is a 77mile ride from a small town named Port Jefferson to an even smaller town Montauk. I am not sure how to take the Prince comment since I am from the other side of the puddle.

Fair play and familiar story!!

I did exactly the same thing last year with my Vitus 992, basically recreated something similar to what I rode in 1991 and did one of my memorable rides of that year. I've now built an EXACT replica bike to what I owned back then, a Peugeot 653 with C Record, and when the sun shines, will once again go for that ride!

I remember seeing one of those Cannondales in 91 when they were still new and different at a local shop...could not believe how light it was compared to my 653, it was just so.....CHUNKY! Nice colour for the tape too....just what we'd have gone with in 92!
