New bearings needed

Re:

Set bike on its side, gear side down. Finger up through the fixed cup, then drop the 11 1/4 inch balls in. Finger will then support the axle with the balls and adjustable cup in place while being screwed in a few turns.

Should this be a raleigh 26 threads per inch?

New bearings installed and it took me about 15 goes to get the correct tightness on the bottom bracket but got there in the end. Feels really smooth now with no play. Thank for your help chaps, MUCH appreciated.

That looks smart : . Cup and cone btom bracket are a bit of trial and error! Nice to see you have got the cotter pins in the right way, crank parallel to the chain stay when dropping them in :)

The chainring looks backwards to me, or inside out?

I have just looked back at the original photos I took when I bought the bike and I think you're right. I'll check it out. Thanks for pointing that out! I'll get something right first time before I finish this build.

Yes, that looks better. Thankfully it was an easy fix and didn't involve removing the cranks AGAIN - phew!

Thank you
