NEED HELP IDENTIFYING MY BIKE "SMG Classic" *PICS*

Hi,

I bought this bike yesterday from an old chap but I don't know much about it, he couldn't shed much light on what it was but he claimed it was hand built. It has some quite nice components though and looks very well put together. From a distance it looks like it's made of wood due to its paint job but it's alloy. It's so nice to ride though, really smooth and light. I love it as I've never seen another bike like it.

The only markings on it is on the head stock "SMG" and the main down tube "Classic".

Does any one know any history about these bikes? Are they any good? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a list of the components that the bike is currently fitted with, I don't know if any of it is original though:

19" Frame
CSSIII Sugino Crankset
Lizard Skins Chain Guard
Deore LX Front Derailleur
Deore XT Rear Derailleur
Mavic D521 Rims
Deore XT Hubs
Panracer FireXC Pro Tyres
Deore XT QR Skewers
Deore XT V-Brakes
Deore LX Shifters/Levers
ZOKES Pro Forks
World Force Stem
Tiogra Surefoot VI Pedals
Yeti Grips

I CAN'T POST PICS YET BUT WILL DO WHEN I CAN :)

I hope it's of interest to the forum

Thanks in advance for your help,
Bristol

No idea what it is, it has some good quality components on it, thoug I have to say the saddle looks awful. You could also do with a longer chain, that rear mech is under a lot of strain.

sorry but theres nothing to make it stand out and immediately identify it. If anything it looks like a common early 90's aluminium frame that was used by all sorts of brand names
