Narhay's Rocky Mountain Sherpa (1984-1986?)

Narhay

Devout Dirtbag
Hello. I was hoping you retrobikers might be able to assist me in identifying this Rocky Mountain Sherpa. It has a set of Deore XT Deerhead M700 derailleurs and shifters, a lugged steel frame and a few other bits of note. If you could help me ID the bike and let me know about some of the parts I am unsure of I would appreciate it. The frame and fork are relatively rusted and I don't think anything short of a repaint will do which I will not as it doesn't fit me so unless this is a very unique bike I will probably part it out.

After some research it appears as though the cranks are specialized branded, possibly made by sugino. Still not sure on the pedals and hubs as they dont have any markings I was able to make out.

nice bike bro', it's definately worth what you paid for it, possibly more. I'm of the opinion that the best thing for these beauties is a set of big bmx bars and old school sr stem. Then take it outside and practice bunny hopping off kerbs and pulling long wobblie wheelies in the sunset......
props on your ride don't part it out

Thanks. They do look like Suntour XC-II, especially considering there is wear everywhere labels might have been at one point.

I will clean up the frame as best I can but this one will not be painted as it doesn't fit me.

Very nice! I have a Rocky Mountain Fat City Flyer from the same year that has the exact same frame, very nicely built (probably a TOYO frame).
