Made you look.....
This is my 1998 Specialized FSR Ground Control
Stripped and ready for painting. Just need to decide on a colour scheme :?

Mirror polish it and build with liberal, yet tasteful application of red ano bling

That's 100% what I'd do if that was here with me! Muhaha!

I'd get decals for it too, maybe lacquer it over

I don't like red...favourite colour is blue......
Thinking gloss white with black rear end and forks ?
Already got M739 XT brakes and front front mech. Need only rear mech.
Mavic 221's waiting in the shed
Accessories are the expensive part. New chainrings are gonna cost the same as a new chainset ! So, I'm going modern on the accesories. I like the Race Face stuff. I know its not retro so tan my hide but it has to be functional if it's gonna be ridden.
Hopefully will look better than the £1500 my mate just spent on 2010 stumpjumper

Just read your British Eagle rebuild. I wonder how many people you inspire to try a bit of wheel building Hydorah ?

Haha see I told you that was what I'd do :D

I said red cos I was working off that spring...

I went blue with that BE cos of the Manitous

That thread has already inspired a couple of people to (suscessfully) build wheels

Which is great, with spokes and labour combined it's almost deterrent priced by a lot of bike shops, so it's a bit of dying art - Not on here though, a good few wheel builders on here and plenty of (sometimes conflicting) advice

The sense of accomplishment is fantastic and being able to tailor your wheels to any build is very handy indeed!

I'm really interested to see what you do with that frame, it's a very nice set of pipes - And asking team RB for suggestions is a great idea

I'm coming round to the idea of red anodised bits.
The wheels have already got red anodised nipples so thats a start, and I've got a pair of Judy SL forks with red anodised bit on (salvaged from the Gary Fisher Joshua which has been broken for parts and sold off)
I think blue frame, black forks and rear stays with a bit of red ano thrown in might be just the ticket.
I'm tempted to rebuilt the wheels after reading your thread because the hubs won't match the groupset.
I might still be doing it when I eat MY Christmas dinner
