Mystery frame - Aluminium GT something? Zaskar?

I’ve won this on a local auction site. Yet to pick it up and pay for it.

Advertised as a Zaskar, but it is missing the gussets. Some people have mentioned that some early ones might not have the gussets? Some might not even have serial numbers either?

I’m struggling to find any photos or information online about that.
These are the only photos I have of it currently. I am hoping some of your gurus might shed some light on it before I go to collect it.

If all turns to custard, at least it has some nice bits on it 😅

Lots of areas would cause me concern on whether thats a Zaskar.

It could only be a 91/92 as it has a fixed mech hanger. But this would be U brake. I can see the guide is there, but looks like a V is fitted?

Headtube gussets as mentioned, but also the welds just don;t quite look right on the headtube but also the toptube/seatstay junction.

Even a 92 pantera had the gussets.

What is the serial number? and does it have a flat end cap with "GT" engraved.

Usually the talk about frames without serials is from people who likely have a frame where its been removed. Very easy to do on these.

Thanks for the reply! Appriecate it.
Rear mech hanger looks like it aligns with photos I have seen online, but that seems to be the only similarity I can see.

Did any Aluminium GTs come without the gussets?

Not sure on serial number or end cap, I'll find that out when I view it tomorrow.

I'm not great on lower end GT but I can't think that any didn't have a gusset.

Its a strange one as it does have similarities with a Zaskar, but then also those differences. Even the cable guides are Gt style for this period.

If the serial is numerical with no letters then its USA made.

Serial and stamps on the drop outs are the usual give aways as to a zaskar along with the flat top tube end cap and usually gussets.

It's running Vs so it's not a u brake version unless there's some form of adapter going on.
