Mystery 70's French frame with Seatstay mod...

Just bought this bike - mainly for the Nuovo Record triple chainset.

The frame is in great condition having been resprayed at some point - looks like mid / late 70's lightweight racer - however, one strange thing is the little hole near the top of the left hand seatstay - nothing on other side.


Any ideas what its for?

Genuine triple as the flutes stop short of the holes . I wonder if that's a brazing hole and the matching hole on the other side is full of paint and invisible..

Think he's talking about the rivnut looking thing in the front of the picture.

If it's threaded. Might be a light/reflector bracket mount. Or for a number board?

I like the idea of a number board (hadn't thought of that!) - to be honest I thought it must be something to do with the brakes?
