i once worked with a 3rd engineer who was younger than me told me "i've been to uni and have an engineering degree so i know what i'm doing" so i didn't tell him he hadn't isolated the valves, pumps or system for a massive hydraulic ram of 200 ton rating..
i don't think they told him how fast a shaft can move when you take the cap and pin off.
chief engineer nearly pissed himself laughing when he saw him.
i still had to clean up the mess though but it was worth it.

youths eh,lol . i still get funny looks when i tell them my job, they forget ive 15 years experience in my trade and been self employed for many of them. is he any good as a manager? if hes shit with the tools dont forget to remind him........often........and in front of his manager

I work with a youth that's cytech qualified and I can still do jobs he can't. I also annoy him a lot as every time he says "They should make a tool for doing that." I always say that I've got one of those at home.  That's what happens when you spend the best part of 25 years building up a tool kit.

Reminds me of when my brother qualified as a welder then volunteered to weld our bmw wheel arch.........ummmmm......okay then bruv

He was totally stumped because he couldnt put the car on a bench and had to lay underneath it
