Retro Newbie
Hi all,
I'm having a big clear out at home and one of the things going is my old bike I've had since I was a kid (it's about 20 years old). A work colleague who is in to his bikes told me that Retro Bikes was the place to come.
It's a lovely neon green Muddy Fox Courier Comp, that has been owned by me from new. It's a 19" frame (measuring from the bottom bracket to the top of the frame where the seat post exits - is this the correct measurement?). It's still in working order and was used as my commuting bike until I wussed out earlier this year and bought a new bike.
Some parts are original, some have had to be replaced through wear. Things that have been replaced are:
- The gear shifters and brake levers. The original all-in-ones failed a couple of years ago and I had the replacements professionally fitted.
- The rear tyre has been replaced after the original perished away.
- The handlebar stem was replaced at new, as it was too much of a stretch for a teenage me. I still have the original green one and will include both in the sale.
It looks like I cannot post pictures until I'm five posts in but I've just taken a load and I'm happy to send links to the pictures to anybody who is interested. Also if there's anything else people need to know, I'll do my best to answer any questions.
As for price, I would ideally like to see £75 for the bike but I'm willing to haggle if I know the bike is going to a good home. We've travelled a long way together and a do have a duty of care
I'm located in Liverpool, UK and would really only be looking for a buyer collection or meeting at some place not too far from me.
Thanks for reading,
Andy
