Muddy Fox Courier circa 1988 seat post diameter?

As above really. Managed to get the seat post stuck, but would like to know the actual diameter for the new post.

I have an 86 Courier (decals as in my avatar) - the seat post (original) on this is 25mm diameter outside edge to outside edge...

Maybe of some use...?

Thanks for the response. I'm unsure if the frames were different between the years.

If it's any use, my seat tube diameter is 26.8mm - if yours is the same (you might be able to find out by removing the front derailleur - sometimes the tube diameter is stamped on the inside of the clamp) then it'd be a fairly safe bet to assume that your seat post diameter is also 25mm.

Turned out it was 26 (or more precisely 26.2) Took it to a local car mechanic and asked him to twist it on his workbench. 2 minutes later the thing was out (obviously all due to my vain attenpts earlier which had loosen it )

Gave him a fiver for his effort (saved me days of cutting). He wanted nothing

Got a new bike post from the LBS for a fiver and all perfect.
