Hi all. Wanted to put this up as a fair few bits and pieces that went into it came from some of the friendly folk on this forum. If you are one of them then thanks a lot!

This is the first time I have ever built a bike, and it has been one hell of a learning process! The initial impetus came when I took my old single speed roadie to the LBS for some bits and they basically told me it was a write off. I decided to build up a mountain bike frame as I thought I might prefer the riding position and feeling of solidity for city riding.

My intention was never to create a stunner, just something that would get me to work and back, which I could ride in the knowledge that I had put it together with my two hands, and learn something along the way. Needless to say, I have learnt a hell of a lot about bikes, and had a lot of fun doing it. I've also spent way more than I initially set out to, having to buy a lot of tools and the likes as well!

This notwithstanding, I have finished the project, and am super stoked on my new bike! Here it is for your perusal, any comments, criticism, feedback, or advice would be much appreciated.

The only problem is I'm now wandering what the next one will be...?

Cheers, MG

Well done on your first build!
It looks good - a solid commuter that you now have the knowledge, skills and confidence to fix/improve yourself.
And like you say, who knows where this will lead.....?

Cheers,
John
