Ok 40+ miles in the South Downs Way was a lot to ask of a 10+ year old seat post.
Basically the hole in the elastomer has all but closed up. Back in the day I recall being told that putting a small length of the correct diameter plastic tube in there would give the post a new lease of life when the fateful day came.
Can anyone tell me what diameter the hole through the elastomer was meant to be originally?
