The Hollywood blockbusters that seem to come out on a regular basis, the more and more stunning visual affects that delight the audience, but has anyone noticed what is happening with these movies we seem to clamour to watch.

Yes very effective advertising gets the bottoms on seats and there makes the money the production and financial backers see, but what else is happening, does anyone see it ?

All these stories, all these story lines, what do they seem to have in common, good battling evil, the usual approach the unofending belittled minority being the target of the powerfully offensive minority who become a power that equals a majority through their power and influence.

Just look at what comes out at the box office, are we being educated ? The latest special effects, nought but pretty packaging to entice the viewer and it works, but is anyone learning what is being said via the storyline.

Are story writers trying to instil hope in a world that thrives on cynicism.

Remember though, writing is an art just like music and dance, and any other form of creative expression, writing stories that do or don't become movies is communication of ideas, hence my question are we being educated and a counter question to that, are we listening, or are we too far immersed in the cynicism of our lives ?

Art and creative expression is a language for us to hear and understand what is being said.

I don't think nearly so deep when it comes to movie choice or thoughts of what I've just seen.

Why does there have to be some dark undertone, what's wrong with entertainment?

+2 that.

Entertainment it was the first time around, a visual delight, but the second time round the mind started going into the familiar overdrive and I recognised many things in the story line. I generally can't watch a movie again once seen, but certain movies I feel hold something that is itching at my feelings and I know how that familiar itch feels, the same feeling I get when via intuition I know something before I do it, we all get that, so presume others can relate to what I am saying here.

But I suppose it all depends on how one views the world we live in, my thoughts are we are largely living a sham, a falsity for it seems no one is happy, everyone is grumbling and wishing for something they can never have.

We are locked into a commercial world where we must constantly buy in the belief that it will make us happy until the next buy is demanded through us telling ourselves we must have to be happy ad finitum, this website displays a few of that mentality, and again others that feel they must do also to be complete or compete.

We are being farmed to worship commercialdom.

Sorry i just got a battle going on between intuition and logic, a common occurrence with me which always seems to end in a truce until the next time.

Basically pretty much all stories are the same. Google "Monomyth".

This is perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned about.

people in general, yes. Not me. Just rise above it fella and let those "fools that are easily parted with money" buy the next new thing. Have the confidence to be your own man and to not feel that you must conform to the majority. You think too deeply matey. (sorry if it offends, but you need a kick to upbeat land)

Aren't you just parroting the plot of Fight Club, there, though?

Whilst it had resonance with many, in itself, it was an exercise in demographics.
