anyone know what is best to get?

my mother has said i can get one on her behalf, helping us both out hugely.

only looked at the new jazz and 2012 civic so far....

You'll need to be living within 5 miles of her and use it for her benefit most of the time, else you run into big grey areas of no insurance.
Motability is a scheme, there is no best car, you can top it up to get more expensive cars to suite needs or have modifications*.
She will loose money from here disability allowance , the higher rate part of DLA that is what pays for the scheme iirc.

That's a few things to be wary of.

check out their website if you have not already.

Different participants in the scheme may have different cars.

*like a special rack for the moonlander ;)

i live with my mam, and i dont need a car bar on weekends, so i said i will take her around 5 days a week and i can play out the odd weekend.

she loses £200 a month allowance wich in return i will give her it back myself, seeing as i dont pay bed and board

so we will both benefit.

cant decide what car to get.

Don't just about all the makers do motability?

Narrow it down to the ones you like and go test drive them!

My S Max is ex motability, it was ordered up but then the customer no longer was able to take it. My relatives are involved with the dealer so I got a great deal. Biased as I am, I would recommend Ford as dealers and their cars are not too shabby either, how about a Focus or C Max? The new one with the sliding doors is well sorted.

yeah, even BMW etc, though you pay an advanced payment on better cars, im not after a flash car, its not going to be mine, so im after fun handling and 50+mpg.....

decided a large car isnt worth it, 95% of the time it will be just local trips, no bikes, so i will live with using a bike rack for the rare days i get to play out.

Just make a list of all the cars you can get for free (or smallest payment available) and pick the one you like most from that.
No-one apart from Chrysler really make bad cars these days, so you can't go far wrong. Corsa, Fiesta, Clio, Polo, 207 etc etc etc will all be decent, especially considering what you'll be paying for it.

new jazz was nice, didnt like the clio, was going to look at the polos......but i still have a liking for the new mini 1.6

i know there not spacious but then i wont need the space, i prefer little gokart handling cars and 100bhp it should be ok, says 53mpg too?

looking at the chart, i cant get the 1.6 mini one for no payment too.

the car i have recently sold, a mk3 gti was great fun, lack of power (115bhp) was made up with a lighter handling car, and the bike was fine on the back, even upto 100mph by mistake a few times

i will have to see what they are like, i aint been in one since my sister came round in a race prepped john cooper works a few years back, they still build and race them but as for a standard car, i aint been in one.

settled on a vw polo 1.2 tdi

drives like a bigger car, pulls like a bigger car but drinks like a small one, ideal.

spacious and test drive was faultless, very impressed at the newer polo and the hatchback design is ideal for my cycle rack.
