More pace help...

Ive just fitted my old RC35s with a new steerer (1") and there is no bulge at the crown end to seat a headset crown race on... Have I overlooked something? The steerer was direct from pace, so all should be ok...

No,there should be an ally collar aswell,ive got one on my 1" steerer,contact justbackdated as he can supply them mate.

I'm sure there was a topic on this not long ago, try a search. I think the gist of it was that you need a shim.

Cool, I thought something must have been missing as I tightened everything up and could still hear a rattle!!!

Yup, you need a bottom race collar, which is a shouldered alloy shim for the post.

JBD should be able to sort you out.

Yep; you need a crown race collar old chap, check inside your old headset bottom[crown] race if you have not binned it, it is probably stuck in there
