Mobile phone users cause accidents

Hopefully similar punishment given to cyclists using their phones whilst riding?

Saying that, I had a certain admiration of the girl i saw recently who was texting whilst negotiating a particularly busy junction.

Absolutely. They can cause an accident just as much as anyone else, although to be fair they're less likely to hurt someone else.

I would love to see some formal tests where people are asked to drive a simulator while talking the on 'phone, or after a couple of beers.

Even doing it on a Playstation would show you the distractions

Seeing people driving whilst on the phone really gets me angry. I've had this idea for a while and if everyone did the same it would work really quickly to stop it permanently ...

If you see someone on the phone whilst driving toot your car horn. This will draw other drivers and paedestrians attention to them. The offenders will soon get fed up with everyone tooting their horns at them and stop, also the person on the other end of the phone will be able to hear the car horns and realise that the person they are talking to is driving.

Needs a catchy slogan, Toot a twat?

Just a thought

Their lack of attention is usually what gets them mugged.
They wander along staring fixated at their little phones, they dont see the large group of thugs hanging on the corner till its too late

Perhaps this is natures way of weeding out the chaff

According to AA report, research carried out at the Transport Research Laboratory driving simulator found people driving under the influence of alcohol had better reaction times than people using mobile phone conversations.
Anyway, sign it if you agree.

I noticed that - but I bet there's a point where it crosses over again, and the drink drive limit is pretty low (in the big scheme of things I mean, and it's not low enough) but if I had to drive after 2 pints or while texting I think I know which would be safer.
