Middleburn Gold Tec NOS, looking for information?

Hi all,

I have been keeping these pieces for a long time in a box but I have never found much information about it. In Spain Middleburn is not so popular as it is in the UK so I hope any of you can help me to find the year of manufacturing and some other details such as the material, besides the titanium, long time ago someone told me that the coated might be gold?? Unfortunately there is no much info on Internet :? . It surprised me the microdrive tech as well, with this cassettes 9-20, 9-21t. Do any of you know if there were more pieces on this kit back then?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me!

Greetings from Spain

Re:

Hi, welcome to the site. Nice collection you have there!
They were a collaboration between Middleburn and Goldtech, made around '94-'95. My understanding is that the chainrings and cassette are made from titanium and the gold coating is titanium-nitride.

There were some references to the MTB versions on this thread, but sadly the photo's seem to have gone:

Well, every day's a school day! Never seen or heard of that groupo before although I obviously know of Middleburn, especially their MTB goodies. How is the block/cassette secured? I can see some form of ratchet teeth inside the 'circle'. Do these provide the 'freewheel' element?

Re:

Thanks guys for the information. The cassettes has 3 tooth (ratchets?) with 3 small springs that match with the inner hub.

Cheers!
